Alhaji Sikiru Ayinde Barrister is a Nigerian songwriter, music performer and Fuji musician. He is regarded as the founder and pioneer of Fuji genre of music.
HIS EARLY LIFE
Alhaji Sikiru Ayinde was born on the 9th of February, 1948 to the family of Salawu Balogun in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital. His father, Salawu was a butcher while his mother was a petty trader.
Sikiru Ayinde started his educational career at Muslim mission school(MMS) and the Model School in Mushin, Lagos State where he obtained his primary and secondary school qualifications respectively. He then proceeded to Yaba Polytechnic, Lagos to study typing and other commercial related courses.
HIS MUSICAL CAREER
His musical career began at his tender age. He started as an Ajiwere singer;where he sings to wake Muslims up during Ramadan period.
Sikiru Ayinde produced his first record in 1966 when he do play with his band members at any events within Ebute-Meta and Mushin axis. The name of his 34-men band is “Supreme Fuji Commanders” which consists of both percussionist and vocalists. His early record label where he released many of his records is “African Songs Limited”. He later left the label to establish his own label named “Siky Oluyole Records”.
Fuji Garbage(1988), Nigeria(1983), Iwa(1982), New fuji Garbage(1993) were produced and released under his own record label. While, Ile-aye dun pupo(life is sweet) and Bisimillahi were released under his former label, African Songs Limited in 1976 and 1977 respectively.
Apart from the songs he produced in studios, he has staged countless live performances both on Nigeria and the diaspora.
SIKIRU AYINDE’S SERVICE IN THE NIGERIAN ARMY AND OTHERS
The fuji lord, Sikiru Ayinde Barrister during his early age has worked and served in different places. He worked in Nigerian Breweries plc as a typist before he later served in the Nigerian Army. He served in the 10th brigade of the force during the regime of Colonel Adeniran. He later left the Nigerian Army to pursue his musical career squarely.

SIKIRU AYINDE BARRISTER’s DEATH
Alhaji Sikiru Ayinde Barrister gave up the ghost on the 16th of December, 2010 at St. Mary’s hospital in London, United Kingdom after an undisclosed illness. He was buried in Isolo, Lagos State.

The Fuji legend got married to 16 wives and have birth to 62 children.
